Matthias Edel founded Erneuergas in 2019. He is convinced that renewable gases make an important contribution to climate protection if they are used intelligently and produced sustainably.
From 2007 to 2011, he was a research associate at the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ) in the field of bioenergy systems. From 2011 to 2020, he worked for the German Energy Agency (dena) on various projects and initiatives in the field of renewable energies with a focus on biomethane and verification. Since 2014 as team leader bioenergy.
He has a special connection to the European Renewable Gas Registry (ERGaR), which he has accompanied in various functions since its foundation in 2016 and for which he was Secretary General in 2021 and 2022.
Where it makes sense and is possible, Erneuergas involves various experts in the projects.
Erneuergas is a member of the European Biogas Association (EBA) and a member of the Cluster Energy & Environment of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region.
